Where the cities of Torrance and Redondo Beach, California meet at the western edge of the Palos Verdes Peninsula is an area known as The Hollywood Riviera. First developed by the Clifford Reid Corporation around 1930, on land owned by the Huntington Land Company. Reid envisioned the area as a retreat for the Hollywood set. Today, the Riviera Village is surrounded by many well-maintained examples of commerical mid-century modern and contemporary architecture.
